Hayley has built a reputation for quality work, integrity, credibility, and reliability in over 30 years’ working in information and customer research, data management, data research & analysis, and project evaluation, in both the public and private sectors.
She brings over 10 years’ experience providing these services to a variety of skills and business start-up and business growth advice and support contracts aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These contracts were delivered initially by Business Link (the Government’s business advice and guidance service in England) and then by Serco Employment, Skills & Enterprise under its Peninsula Enterprise brand, across the South West, Wales and Cheshire.
Through this she has built a knowledge of local/national Government & EU-funded training and support programmes, such as those backed by the European Structural Investment Funds (ESIF). The ESIF includes the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the European Social Fund (ESF), and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). In association with Moor Economics, Hayley Sampson Research has successfully delivered a number of ERDF Summative Assessment and other impact evaluations of business support projects across the South West of England. Prior to this she had a successful career as an Intelligence Officer/Crime Analyst with Devon & Cornwall Constabulary which led to promotion to Analyst Manager; a key task of which was to set up the analytical unit in Plymouth and deliver the four intelligence products of the National Intelligence Model (NIM).
She qualified as an ANACAPA Criminal Intelligence Analyst in 1995 – techniques which underpin the NIM. Fraud and fraud conspiracy analysis was a particular speciality.
She has Market Research Society and MSc-level qualifications (CPD) in quantitative and qualitative customer research and proven skills in identifying, mapping, and documenting business processes; customer journey routes; CRM data capture, recording, and management information/KPI reporting mechanisms including Excel-based dashboards; GIS spatial mapping skills; and in producing actionable project performance and customer feedback analyses.
Experienced in MS Word, Excel (Advanced), Outlook, Powerpoint, Visio, Publisher, Teams (Microsoft 365/OneDrive). SNAP, Survey Monkey, and SmartSurvey survey software. Pivotal/Crystal and Salesforce CRMs and analysis dashboards/reporting tools. SPSS statistical analysis and reporting. QGIS geographic information mapping. Developing skills in DAX and Power BI.
